Training Questions asked by our customers
( Technical questions below )

Q - Bark Control collars were designed for what type of dogs?
A - For any dog that is a nuisance barker.

Q - Will the use of this collar stop a dog's barking altogether?
A - No. The collar will stop the dog from barking only when the dog is wearing it - it will not effect a dog's barking when he is not wearing the collar.

Q - How big must a dog be to be trained with a bark collar?
A - The dog should weigh at least 8 pounds.

Q - What is the longest period of time that a dog should wear the bark collar?
A - Eight consecutive hours.

Q - Will the use of this collar hurt or injure a dog?
A - Absolutely not. The correction is safe, painless and humane. These products are endorsed by The Humane Society of the United States, the SPCA and many veterinarians throughout North America.

Q - How will my dog first react to the correction from the collar?
A - Every dog's reaction is slightly different. Some yip or squeal is normal as they have never received a correction of this type before. This is why the owner should be present for the first correction.

Q - Once my dog is trained, does he have to wear the collar the rest of his life?
A - Probably not. He may have to wear it as a reminder from time to time.

Q - Can my dog wear this collar when he is left home alone?
A - Yes, but only after you have observed him receiving and avoiding the correction successfully.

Q - Can I attach a leash to this collar?
A - No. A leash should be attached to a separate collar. A leash should never be attached to any receiver collar.

Technical Questions asked by our customers

Q - How do I put the nylon collar on the bark collar?
A - Take the two metal probes off the unit by unscrewing them. Remove the black washers. Lay the nylon collar over the studs of the receiver. Place the washers back over the nylon collar with the smooth side facing up. Screw the metal probes back down.

Q - How do I adjust the level of correction?
A - The unit has a low - medium - high setting switch. This is to be used for the corresponding size of breed ie: low - small, med - medium, high - large breeds. This unit is self adjusting, if the dog continues to bark the correction will increase. Their is a total of 18 levels of correction - 6 for each setting.

Q - Where can I buy the battery module for the receiver?
A - The battery module can be purchased anywhere that sells PetSafe products or ordered directly online through us ( Item # 137 ). The battery module should last an average of 4-6 months depending on the use required.

Q - Can I get a larger nylon collar? Or a different one?
A - The receiver can easily be attached to any type of collar. Simply punch two holes in your chosen collar that will correspond with the potrusion of the probes from the receiver box.

Q - Do you have a Bark Collar with a higher correction level?
A - No.
