The RD-400 Dog Tracking System has combined advanced electronics and engineering to create a compact and lightweight dog tracking system. This dog tracking system system is light, weighing in at only one pound, and features an instant open–close design to eliminate slow set up times. At only one pound this dog tracking system can be carried continually over long distances without the worry of fatigue ending your hunt or work. It is a reliable dog tracking system that offers huge advantages for hunters, biologists and those who need a reliable dog tracking system. The operator has a choice of listening to the signals through a speaker or headphones (included). A tree indicator (double beep) indicates when the dog is looking straight up.

The dog tracking system can track up to seven miles and the receiver provides 20 hours of continuous use. The handheld receiver operates on a 9-Volt Alkaline battery, which can easily be changed in the field. The RD-400 dog tracking system receiver features a low battery indicator, and for night viewing it has a unique back-lit display controlled by a simple on / off switch. The lightweight collar features a thin flexible antenna so it's virtually snag free. It is powered by a 3-Volt Lithium battery that provides for approximately 200 hours of continuous use, and is also easily replaced in the field.

The RD-400 allows for both close range (under 1 mile) and long range (up to 7 miles). With the gain control knob, conveniently located on the right of the receiver you can readjust the gain for any distance. This will provide you precise directional finding, superior to other dog tracking systems.

Each individual collar can easily be programmed in the field to one of up to 16 different channels on one of 4 different bands. With up to 64 channels choices to select from, you get virtually guaranteed dog tracking. The RD-400 dog tracking system ships with two collars, but additional collars are available.
