What about these funny little circles - What are they ?

The figure-8 shapes or small circles seen in these diagrams represent a twisted pair of wires running from the transmitter out to the perimeter boundary loop. By twisting the wires a minimum of 10-12 twists per foot you can cancel out the Radio Fence signal in this area - allowing the dog to cross the wire safely.

Basically wherever you see a twisted line of wires - the dog can safely cross the boundary without any correction ( to allow access into the house etc. ), but wherever a single line is shown, this becomes a "live" area where the dog cannot cross.

These systems require a complete loop installation ie: start out from the transmitter with your boundary wire and return back to it with the other end. You cannot have a "dead end" in your boundary loop.

Why would I need to do a double loop ?

The system must be installed as a complete loop - it cannot be " dead-ended " as you can with cattle or electric fences - the loop must return back to the second port on the transmitter. So, having said that, if you only need to fence off one, two or three sides of the property, you will still need to complete the loop and the only way to accomplish this is with a a double loop design.
