Rechargeable or Replaceable Batteries ?
If you're shopping on-line, you may find rechargeable systems out there.
Rechargeable is a good option - there's no doubt on that one - but be sure to read the
fine print on these systems before you buy and don't be afraid to ask questions of
the retailer or "e-tailer" about the system and specifically about the
"rechargeable battery".
Consumer Alert: Be aware these "rechargeable" systems are not
user-replaceable "rechargeable batteries"
in the collar and when their "rechargeable battery" finally dies - typically
within 12-13 months ( hence the limited 12 month warranty ), you are forced to buy a brand
new collar - at up to $200 a pop ! Well, that's great news for the manufacturer -
but not for the budget conscious consumer.
With over ten years of experience in this industry we strongly recommend that
whether its a training collar or a dog fence you are looking at - if the battery is not
user-replaceable rechargeable then it's just not
worth it - unless, of course you're happy to spend the money every other year...

Multiple Dogs ?
Another very important point to note. If you have more than one dog, rechargeable
system is not for you. Rechargeable systems you can only recharge one collar at a time -
which leaves your other dog locked up in the house waiting their turn - now where's the
freedom in that? With user-replaceable
batteries, the dead battery is replaced in seconds giving true freedom of the yard for
your dog and peace of mind for you.
Staples to conceal your buried wire ?
Okay then, now this is getting absurd. You want to staple your wire to the lawn ?
Someone told you that you could ? If you honestly think a staple will hold your wire in
place in the grass - as advertised by some "companies" out there - and not get
nicked or yanked out by the lawn mower / weed whacker or trip the kids then go right
