Rechargeable or Replaceable Batteries ?
If you're shopping on-line, you may find rechargeable systems out there.
Rechargeable is a good option - there's no doubt on that one - but be sure to read the
fine print on these systems before you buy and don't be afraid to ask questions of
the retailer or "e-tailer" about the system and specifically about the
"rechargeable battery".
Consumer Alert: Be aware the "rechargeable"
systems out there are notuser-replaceable
"rechargeable batteries" in the collar and when their "rechargeable
battery" finally dies - typically within 12-13 months ( hence the limited 12 month
warranty ), you are forced to buy a brand new collar - at up to $200 a pop ! Well,
that's great news for the manufacturer and the retailer selling these
"rechargeable" products - but definitely not for the budget conscious consumer.
With over ten years of experience in this industry we strongly recommend that
whether it's a training collar or a containment system you are looking at purchasing - if
the battery is notuser-replaceable
rechargeable then it's just not worth the money - unless, of course you're happy to spend
and spend again every year.
